Youth Football Goalkeeper Coaching

Mearns Youth Football Club are delighted to offer high quality goalkeeper coaching to 8 – 18 youths, through the club’s qualified coach James Lock. James currently holds qualifications in football development areas including FA Goalkeeping ‘B’, UEFA ‘A’ Elite Youth and UEFA ‘B’ licenses. The training will be available at the Old Academy Playing Fields and Astro Pitches in Laurencekirk.

Whether you prefer to be coached as part of a group or on a one-to-one basis, you can be sure that our goalkeeping sessions will see your skills, agility and confidence improve.

Our goalkeeping sessions and coaching will cover the below topics:
• Set Position • Footwork • Positioning
• Handling • Shot Stopping • Angled Shot Stopping
• Winning 1v1’s • Dealing with Crosses • Dealing with Through Balls
• Distribution • Communication Skills • Understanding Your Role
• Confidence • Mental Toughness • GK Specific Fitness

The sessions will be based on two age groups,

8 – 11-year old’s - Saturday mornings from: 9.00pm – 10.15am
12 – 16-year old’s - Saturday mornings from: 10.30pm – 11.45am
One on one sessions – Wednesday/Friday on application
