FULL-TIME | Mearns Youth 2013 7️⃣-3️⃣ Broughty United Jags

?⚫ A fantastic start to the new season for Mearns Youth 2013! ?⚫

Our first game back since last season saw the squad produce an excellent all-round performance, running out deserved 7-3 winners over Broughty United at Fettercairn Park.

Mearns started the game with real intensity, taking an early 3-0 lead through goals from Hunter Ballantyne, Cameron Grant and Hugh Merchant. Broughty United responded well, but Hunter grabbed his second of the game to send us into half-time with a 4-2 lead.

The second half continued in the same positive fashion. Kaiden Sinclair extended our advantage before Zoe Anderson made it 6-3 with another well-taken goal.

Broughty United were then awarded a penalty that could have changed the momentum, but goalkeeper Kian produced a superb diving save to his right to keep the score at 6-3. It was a brilliant moment and thoroughly deserved after a solid performance between the posts.

Cameron Grant then completed his brace late on to round off an impressive 7-3 victory.

? Moment of the Match: Kian's outstanding penalty save at 6-3, diving low to his right to deny Broughty United.

The scoreline was pleasing, but what stood out most was the attitude, teamwork and effort from every player. It was fantastic to see our boys and girls back on the pitch enjoying their football, working hard for one another and showing the progress they've made.

A big thank you to Broughty United for a competitive and enjoyable friendly, and to all the parents, families and supporters who came along to cheer the team on.

❤️? One Club. One Family.
